Kim Hyun-gyeom won two gold medals in the men's singles, and Shin Ji-ah won a gold medal in the women's singles. Ji-ni Kim and Namu Lee, who were disappointed in fourth place in the ice dance, also succeeded in the team competition.
This is the first time that a figure skating team competition was held as a national competition at the Youth Winter Olympics that started in 2012. Until then, players from each country formed teams and competed regardless of nationality.
In this competition, in which five countries competed, the rankings were determined by adding up the scores of the top three events out of four events, including ice dance, pairs, and men's and women's singles.
Although Korea did not participate in the pairs competition, it showed off leading athletes in both the ice dance and men's and women's singles events, and won the gold medal it had aimed for.
The first to enter the game was the team of Jini Kim and Namu Lee. They performed smoothly and received a total of 82.15 points, including 44.37 technical points (TES) and 37.78 artistic points (PCS).
Korea earned 3 points, taking third place after Ambre Ferrier-Samuel Blanc (France, 97.69 points) and Olivia Illin-Dylan Kane (USA, 88.63 points).
After the pairs match, in which only two countries, including the United States and Canada, participated, Kim Hyun-gyeom competed in the men's singles match.
